New Phone

I decided it was finally time that I upgraded my phone. I've wanted an iphone for years, but I'm so terrified of dropping it or getting mugged that I've shyed away from it. Then my brother let me have a play with his Samsung Galaxy S II and the decision was made!

I've always had Samsung phones and they're very reliable and user friendly - and do everything an iphone does with one added bonus... I can blog on it!

If I were that way inclined I'd do a techie review here, but I'm not. So instead I'm going to say this... pretty!

Joanne's Wardrobe

My little sister has fab fashion sense and a killer wardrobe so I've convinced her to step into the world of blogging. And to help her on her way I even created a blog for her...

So have a little nosy. And if you're having a look at this in a months time, hopefully she will have posted on it!

A naughty weekend!

I had a bit of a boozy weekend, which mostly consisted of wine, shopping and food! So a pretty good weekend in all!

After a last minute meet up with my lovely friend Sarah, I decided I needed to expand my work wardrobe and so visited Dorothy Perkins - a shop that I rarely go into - and was pleasantly surprised. So much so that I splurged on this Red Shirt and a pair of skinny jeans. The shirt isn't normally me at all but I loved the colour and with a couple of the buttons undone it looks great with the jeans!

And adding to my obsession with the Maxi dress I decided to expand into the Maxi skirt, and picked up this gorgeous blue one from Warehouse.

We then decided we needed to relax with wine and after a bottle moved onto my former workplace The Strand, and met the boy and some friends. (If you click on the link you'll get to see my brother on the homepage looking very happy whilst pretending to pull a pint!) Suprisingly, I was sober by the end of the night and had to carry Jack home! That's what I call a guilt free weekend!

Holiday Maxi Dresses

So this Summer I seem to be having a bit of a love affair with the Maxi dress. It all started with the purchase of a maxi dress (or three) from Primark. They were a bit of a bargain - £9! - so I bought the same style in three different colours. They're fab as you can dress them up with heels and accessories, or just wear them on a sunny day with flip flops and sunglasses. They were a staple for my holiday wardrobe and so versatile!

I also adore this Smudge Print Maxi Dress from Asos which I'm wearing below at Perto Cervo - home to the super yachts and super rich! I'm wearing the dress with Navy Peep Toe wedges from New Look and a yellow Boxy Clutch from Asos.

The handbag was the only clutch I packed for the trip and it went with everything!

Sardinia

So I've just returned from a gorgeous week in Sardinia with the boy. It was pure heaven although the first day was a bit of a nightmare. We had a 6am flight so we were already surviving on very little sleep, then we had to jump in a hire car at Alghero airport and drive for 3 hours to our hotel in Baia Sardinia. The journey was a little fraught to say the least. A journey involving one near crash and a fatality! Dramatic I know!

The near crash involved Jack falling asleep at the wheel, and so we very wisely decided to take a nap on the roadside. When we woke up we continued and came across a turtle crossing the road. With me screaming swerve (meaning right, to go around it), Jack swerved left with the intention of it going between the wheels and thereby smoothly missing it... we didn't. Both of us were almost in tears from shock, exhaustion and sheer guilt, but we continued on our way and were met with a gorgeous hotel, Hotel La Rocca and some much needed relaxation.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Hughes

I was lucky enough to share my step brother Ole and his wife Laura's big day with them at Hatton Court Hotel Cheltenham on the 1st July. Therefore, I thought I'd share it with you too!

Here's me with my sister, my Mum, and my brother The Best Man! As you can see we are very co-ordinated - unintentional but a happy mistake! Joanne's dress is from Topshop and my Mum's is from M&S. I wore a Reiss dress I found in the sale at Christmas - £250 down to £75! Bargain! You can't see them but I'm also wearing a pair of Nude Miss KG Peeptoes from Asos

Laura was a very crafty bride and made all of the table arrangements, favours and this impressive welcoming gift for the guests...

And of course my beautiful neice who looked gorgeous in her bridesmaid dress.
